Valuable metal extraction technology from thermal power plant fly ash is limited. In the present study, aluminium is extracted from fly ash as highly pure aluminium sulphate (>99.0%) by leaching with sulphuric acid, followed by pre-concentration and successive crystallization. Two types of fly ashes from different sources, i.e., Talcher Thermal Power Station (TTPS) and Vedanta Aluminium Company Limited (VAL) were chosen for comparative study on the extraction of aluminium as aluminium sulphate. The product is characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Purity of aluminium sulphate was also investigated by inductively coupled plasma–optical emission spectrometry (ICP–OES). The extraction efficiency of aluminium depends on the varied solid-to-liquid ratio (fly ash : 18 mol/L H2SO4, g/mL) and particle size of fly ashes. A range of alloys based on the Al-4Mg-0·4Mn system were produced with selected quaternary microalloying additions. In Part 1 of this study, the electrochemical and corrosion response was studied. To characterise the sensitisation behaviour of these alloys, where sensitisation is the major mode of degradation of 5xxx alloys, heat treatment at 150°C was carried out and followed by the Nitric Acid Mass Loss Test (NAMLT) according to ASTM G67-04. Herein the alloying elements studied include silicon, zinc, titanium, zirconium and strontium. The results indicate that strontium (Sr), silicon (Si) and titanium (Ti) have a significant influence in reducing intergranular corrosion (IGC) susceptibility. 相似文献

高温法是目前国内处理铝电解废阴极的主要研究方向。系统研究了焙烧温度、焙烧时间、样品粒度等对氰化物、氟化物及其它元素脱除效率的作用规律,研究了石墨碎石墨化度、真密度、粉末电阻率与焙烧温度的关系。研究表明,在600℃焙烧时氰化物可以完全分解,在1 000℃以上可以脱除氟及其其它成分(不含碳),氟及其它成分的脱除率主要和焙烧温度有关,焙烧温度越高,氟及其它成分的脱除率越高;石墨碎的石墨化度和真密度随焙烧温度的升高而提高,焙烧温度达到2 600℃时石墨碎的石墨化度达到98.4%、真密度达到2.270 3 g/cm3;石墨碎的粉末电阻率随焙烧温度的升高而降低;焙烧所得石墨碎具有较高的应用价值。 相似文献

The low‐cycle fatigue behaviour of a cast Al–12Si–CuNiMg alloy, with a high content of Si, is investigated at 200, 350 and 400 °C. The fatigue test results show that the alloy exhibits symmetrical hysteresis loops, moderate cyclic softening and higher fatigue resistance at higher temperature. The fracture surface analysis reveals that more tear ridges are formed at higher temperature, which strongly affect the fatigue resistance. Furthermore, evaluation of the material fatigue resistance using an energy‐based Halford–Marrow model indicates that the material's ability to absorb and dissipate plastic strain energy is enhanced as temperature increases. 相似文献

A completely analytical theory is developed for the mixed mode partition of one-dimensional fracture in laminated composite beams and plates. Two sets of orthogonal pure modes are determined first. It is found that they are distinct from each other in Euler beam or plate theory and coincide at the Wang-Harvey set in Timoshenko beam or plate theory. After the Wang-Harvey set is proved to form a unique complete orthogonal pure mode basis within the contexts of both Euler and Timoshenko beam or plate theories, it is used to partition a mixed mode. Stealthy interactions are found between the Wang-Harvey pure mode I modes and mode II modes in Euler beam or plate theory, which alter the partitions of a mixed mode.
